Luxor, Egypt (day 2)

We overnighted at the Luxor Hilton, with a beautiful Nile sunset view from our room.

The Karnak Temple is the largest ancient religious site in the world.

It was built over a period of 2000 years (starting 1600 BC) during the dynasties of 30 pharaohs.

The Luxor Temple was largely buried for centuries, underneath accumulated river silt.

The thing I like most about Egyptian archeology is that it tells complex stories (rather than just being ruins of old things).
