Antibes, France

Although our port today was Antibes, we built our day around visiting the world famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, down the road a bit.

Weeks ago I scheduled lunch there. I was curious as to how good a $60 hamburger could be.
Four of us went, which is an interesting story in itself. Last night we ate with a couple at random by the pool, and it turned out they had lunch reservations at the hotel also. We went together which was fortuitous because taxis are virtually nonexistent here, and the gentleman had arranged for a private car and driver.

It’s not like everybody went. We were the only four from the ship who ate there. Karma I guess.
Anyway, we had four items. The food was fair, but not great.

Another reason to go was to check out the hotel. I had always wanted to see it and maybe stay there. We ended up crossing it off of our list.
