Gibraltar is a British overseas Territory, located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea.

Besides the rock, it is home to about 30,000 people and 300 monkeys.

The entire territory is less than 3 square miles. Maybe that is why their 6,000-foot runway is intersected by the main road to Spain.

For 500 years, the Moors had control of the Straight at the closest point to Africa, just 20 miles across at Tarifa (just down the road).

Unlike other pirates of the day, they figured out about killing the Golden Goose, and were the first to charge for using their facilities. They charged based on cargo value. This became known as tariff.
